I really cannot conceive it any other way, I'm sorry.Aleksandr Voinovhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06583805228909693924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29109752791794032.post-80945262525949329282014-03-13T07:47:08.493+00:002014-03-13T07:47:08.493+00:00Omigod. I just wanted a strong HEA. I wanted a romance at a time when you didn't know what that was. Genre-wise, I mean.Elainenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29109752791794032.post-78894113492092869732014-03-12T17:59:59.985+00:002014-03-12T17:59:59.985+00:00Yep. There's no natural middle point, all the strands are going from the start to the finish, and while t would work if it were a fantasy novel, it's a contemporary. I'll shoot you an email. :)Aleksandr Voinovhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06583805228909693924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29109752791794032.post-47390321401087336392014-03-11T12:11:12.087+00:002014-03-11T12:11:12.087+00:00It's me thinking out loud, most of the time. :...It's me thinking out loud, most of the time. :) Re: going hybrid, I'm getting an amazing deal from Riptide, which handles all the promo. As a self-pubber, I wouldn't get into Publisher's Weekly or Romantic Times, for example, and right now I struggle financing the level of editing I need out of pocket.

The book has some other issues - it's set in the financial world, which very few readers will have an idea about or care about, so there's a LOT of financial babble and such. The big question is what to retain and what to cut, but I'm working on it. That being said, have you thought of making it into a two book series? Is there a way to even split it and would that be beneficial in any way to the end product(s)?

You always have plenty of betas and I know I have offered before, but here it is again..........if you need a different set of eyes, I'm willing to tackle it!

Looking forward to your upcoming works.

/hugs

Kassandra/KasieKassandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09985856663502841108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29109752791794032.post-62864633801508521102014-03-10T18:20:46.203+00:002014-03-10T18:20:46.203+00:00I love how you're so transparent, it's ref...I love how you're so transparent, it's refreshing. :)
I definitly think your 127k opus is a candidate for self pub- time to go hybrid! My favorite book of 2013 was The Last Hour Of Gann, a 175k self pub. It was way too long and edgy for trad pub, or Indie! But despite it's length it was an amazing, cannot put this down, book. High word count doesn't have to be a death sentence! In the self pub world, who cares? This is what's great about self pub-not as a repository for slush pile rejects- but as a place where terrific (uncut) niche stories can find an audience.
Good luck with your projects, Aleks. Sounds like you've got your plate full, which I'm sure is just how you like it.
MicheleMichele Millsnoreply@blogger.com
